Volunteer Opportunities for September ~ October and Ongoing:
Help will be needed for the Teacher Appreciation luncheon in May.
General Volunteer Information:
There are many opportunities to volunteer at MRMS both in school and at home. Outlined below are areas where help is needed. - Beautification – help maintain and improve the school grounds and
hallways.
- Grant Writer – apply for grants that would be beneficial to MRMS
- Student Directory – help input data into an Excel file, copy, and
distribute
- Fundraisers – clerical and distribution help for any or all fundraisers
- Hospitality – help with teacher appreciation events
- PBIS Marlin Store – volunteer in the store during lunch periods
- Marlin Family Night – help with all aspects of this in-school fundraiser
- Book Fair – volunteer during the book fairs
- Band/Chorus/Orchestra – help with uniforms, fundraisers, trips,
concerts, and festivals
- Community Service – assist with student Community Service projects
- Ongoing Promotions – help organize and publicize promotion opportunities
- CAC Representative – represent MRMS at County CAC meetings and chair
MRMS CAC meetings
- After School Clubs – assist with clubs such as 24, Drama, SGA, etc
- 8th Grade Promotion – plan and chaperone the evening social event
- Vision and Hearing – assist with getting students to the vision and
hearing screenings
- Media Center – assist with book shelving, book covering, etc.
- Hoops for Hearts – volunteer during this PE charity event
- Teacher Projects – copy, laminate, 3-hole punch, etc
- Touchstones – work with small student groups to discuss short readings
- Recreational Reading – work with student groups to discuss books
- Emergency Chaperones – be on call in case chaperones are needed for
field trips
- Main Office Receptionist – fill in at the front desk (answering phones,
etc.)
- Yearbook – help the students and faculty advisor
- After School Dances – chaperone student dances after school
